The Clinique de la Lithiase Rénale et Métabolisme Minérale, Hospital Brugmann, Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Brussels, Belgium in collaboration with Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology and Division of Endocrinology, and Charles and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA has created a University Certificate in Kidney Stone Disease: from diagnosis to treatment (UniverStone). This initiative was unavoidable given the warring increase in the prevalence of the disease and the enormous growth potential of digital learning. The objectives are to offer an in-depth, integrated, multidisciplinary course, drawing on the latest research and recommendations for best-practice in patient care.
The course would cover all of the pathophysiolological, clinical, biological and therapeutic aspects of urinary lithiasis. This certificate is intended for anyone working in the diagnosis and treatment (both curative and preventative) of kidney stones and related renal and extra-renal complications.

Lithogenesis, crystalluria, morphoconstitutional classification of stones, and metabolic assessment of kidney stones formers - Module 3 (2 days)
Pathophysiology and exploration of calcium oxalate stones - Module 4 (2 days)
Genetic-related stones (day 1)
Curative and preventive medical treatment (day 2). - Module 5 (2 days)
Pathophysiology and exploration of calcium phosphate stones - Module 6 (2 days)
Uric acid stones, and infection-related kidney stones disease - Module 7 (2 days)

A certificate will be delivered to those who have completed the course.

Who is it for?
This course is designed to equip clinicians to meet current challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney stone disease, providing practical, evidence-based approaches.
Nephrologists, urologists, internists, biologists, general practitioners, nutritionists, dieticians, pharmacists, veterinarians, post-graduate medical students, students and post-doctoral fellows from all faculties who are or will be involved in the management of patients with lithiasis.
Laboratory technicians (i.e. with a bachelors degree) who wish to specialize in the field of the exploration and biological monitoring of lithiasis pathologies and additional training on their physiopathology.
